And if you are eager to jump start your virtual career, here are some tips to get you prepared for the Virtual Job Fair.
Take inventory of your skill sets. What are you best qualified to do? Write down a list of those skill sets, and include concrete examples of how you demonstrated those skill sets for an employer or a client.
Prepare a resume that details your work experience. Be sure your resume does more than list your skill sets. Indicate how a company or client grew as a result of hiring you. For example, if you desire a Communications position, include information about how you successfully managed a team of 10 content creators who launched a successful marketing campaign that boosted the company’s brand presence by 30%.
Prepare answers for a possible interview and chat. Sometimes, the best way to secure a new virtual position is to imagine how you would respond to questions from recruiters. Envision your success and hold fast to it.
Lastly, have a portfolio available that showcases your expertise. In other words, curate work samples that you can discuss or share with recruiters at the Virtual Job Fair. Your portfolio can be on LinkedIn, a blog, or your branded website.
